(SD)-Former Rapid City TV Sports Anchor Jamie Zepp Dies At 45
RAPID CITY, S.D. - Former long-time Rapid City tv sportscaster Jamie Zepp has died at age 45. No cause of death has been given and funeral arrangements are pending.
Zepp first came to Rapid City as a sports intern at KEVN while a student at USD, then worked in both news and sports at KOTA after graduation.
He spent a few years at a Sioux City station, then returned to the Black Hills and KEVN Black Hills FOX, where he was the sports director for more than 16 years.
He left in 2018 to pursue and complete his dream - hiking the 2,190 miles of the Appalachian Trail, which he did in 6 months and 5 days.
Longtime KOTA meteorologist Mike Modrick says Zepp lived his dreams and was full of life with a "smile that would just light up - you couldn't help but smile back."
