(Neb.)- Sioux County Girls Earn Sweep Over Minatare, Leyton
(Chadrad Sports)- The Sioux County girls added two wins to their record over the weekend, improving to 14-4 on the year. The Warriors defeated both Minatare and Leyton, holding their opponents to single digits in seven of eight quarters.
Sioux County earned a 46-27 victory Friday over Minatare, opening the game 15-11 and shutting out the Indians for most of the second quarter for a 30-13 advantage at half-time. The Warriors put together a 12-8 run after the break to secure their margin en route to the win. Karlee Juhnke led the Warriors with 14 points, followed by Kailey Klein with 10.
A road trip to Leyton Saturday saw Sioux County play stifling defense in a 45-24 win in which Leyton never scored more than nine points in a quarter. The Warriors raced to an early 16-2 lead and never looked back, leading 25-11 at the break and 35-13 at the end of the third. Kodie Rempp led the Warriors with 14 points, followed by Klein with 13.
Sioux County will travel to Crawford Tuesday.
