(Neb.)- Alliance Uses 2nd Half Blitz To Defeat Chadron
(Chadrad Sprots)- A great first half was over shadowed by a rough 3rd quarter as Alliance raced past the Chadron boys 66-43 on Tuesday night.
The Cardinals maybe played their best half of basketball this season, holding Alliance's shooters in check in the 1st and 2nd quarters. After trailing early, Chadron finished the first quarter strong with a pair of three pointers from Trevor Berry and Cooper Heusman to take a 12-11 lead.
The lead extended out to 16-11, but Alliance responded with eight straight points to go up three before Chadron retook the lead with a Dillan Sayaloune free through and another Berry three, but Alliance ended the half on a 6-0 run for a 25-20 halftime lead.
The Cardinals scored the first basket of the 2nd half to pull with in three, but thats as close as it would get as the Bulldogs outscored Chadron 29-15 in the 3rd quarter to take a comfortable 54-35 advantage in to the final quarter.
Heusman and Berry led Chadron with 12-points a piece. The Cardinals, 8-10, hit the road to Rapid City Christian on Friday.
