(Chadrad Sports)- After a back and forth first quarter, Sidney's defense locked down the Chadron girls and handed the Lady Cardinals their first loss in the new year by the score of 42-33 on Friday night.
Chadron led most of the first quarter, but the Lady Red Raiders knotted it at 14 on a buzzer beating three. The tides turned in the 2nd quarter as Sidney ramped up the defense and built a 30-22 halftime lead.
Neither team performed well offensively in the 2nd half. Chadron cut the deficit to four points at 30-26 midway through the 3rd quarter, but a 5-0 run to end the quarter pushed the Sidney lead out to 9.
