CHADRON, Neb. -- The Black Hills State women outscored Chadron State 16-8 on 21.4% shooting in the 4th quarter en route to a 70-60 win in the Chicoine Center Friday night.
Taryn Foxen tied the game at 54 with 9:40 remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Yellow Jackets scored the next four points and held the lead the rest the game finishing the game on a 12-2 scoring run.
CSC shot 58% in the first half, compared to 26% in the second.
The Yellow Jackets were led by Morgan Ham with 23 points. Racquel Wientjes had 17 points and seven rebounds.
Foxen led the Eagles with a game high 27 points. Jordan Morris scored ten and had a game high nine rebounds.
The Eagles were 24 of 60 (40 percent), including 7 of 17 from long range. Black Hills State finished 22 of 54 (40.7%) from the field and were 10 of 23 from three. The Yellow Jackets were 16 of 24 at the free throw line, while Chadron State was 5 of 9.
Chadron State was outrebounded by the hosts 37 to 36. Both teams committed 14 turnovers.
The loss drops the Eagles to 5-18 overall and 3-1 in the RMAC. The Yellow Jackets improve to 12-7 and 9-5 in conference play.
CSC returns to action tomorrow, as they play host to South Dakota Mines. The Hardrockers won their fourth straight game Friday, defeating MSU-Denver 58-52.
