(Chadrad Sports)- Chadron wrestler Paige Denke will head to York this weekend for the 1st annual NSWCA girls state wrestling championships.

The tournament was born after the Nebraska School Activities Association failed to pass girls wrestling as a sanctioned sport last year.

Denke, who wrestles at 106-lbs, will be in a pool with wrestlers from Fremont and Platteview.  Winners from 8 different pools will advance to the quarterfinal round.

Denke will be joined by Emma Gomez of Hemingford who will wrestle at 182-lbs.
