(Neb.)- Crawford Boys Drop Games To Edgemont, LFL
(Chadrad Sports)- The Crawford Rams’ Will Ackerman put 53 points on the board in two nights, but still saw the team fall to 4-8 on the year after suffering back-to-back losses to Edgemont and Lingle-Fort Laramie last Thursday and Friday.
Crawford faced the Edgemont Moguls first, taking an early lead in the first quarter but trailed by half-time. The Rams opened with a 7-6 run only to see the Moguls scratch out an 18-16 lead by the break. The teams traded buckets in the third, with the Moguls ending the period with an 11-10 edge, an advantage they pressed in the final period of their 43-34 victory.
Ackerman led the Rams with 23 points, followed by London Gillam, who had eight. Gillam also pulled down nine rebounds.
The next night, Ackerman racked up 30 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Crawford’s 56-47 loss to LFL. Gillam added 11 points, and Ty Brady netted the remaining eight for the Rams. LFL jumped to a 14-7 lead in the opening frame and held a 28-4 advantage at the break. Each team scored 15 in the third; the Rams used the turnaround to outscore LFL 23-13 in the final frame but time ran out before they could eliminate the deficit created in the first half.
The Rams play next Jan. 16 at Guernsey-Sunrise before entering Panhandle Conference action Jan. 20-25.
