(Neb.)- Chadron Comeback Bid Falls Short Against Custer
(Chadrad Sports)- Chadron couldn't overcome a 15 point deficit against Custer on Tuesday in the championship game of the Chadron Rotary George Watson Holiday Classic, falling 54-50.
The Cardinals were aggressive early and built a 14-9 lead after the 1st quarter, but were up by just one at the half 24-23.
Custer controlled most of the 3rd quarter on a trio of three pointers to take a 38-31 lead to the final quarter before Chadron battled back to cut the score down to 53-50 with 5-seconds left. A Custer free throw then sealed the Wildcat win.
Trevor Berry dropped in 21-points followed by Kristian Bartletts 13 and Cooper Heusman's 12.
Chadron is off until January 11th when the travel to Mitchell.
