(Neb)-Chadron Falls In State Volleyball Tournament

(Chadrad Sports) - Chadron High's first trip to the state volleyball tournament in 3 years didn't last long as they were swept in the first round of Class C-1 action Thursday by Lincoln Lutheran 25-20, 25-15, 25-19. The Lady Cardinals end their season 31-8.
Chadron spotted the Warriors a 5-0 lead in each of the three sets. The Cardinals were able to crawl back to with in 2 at 22-20 in set number one, but Lutheran closed out on a 3-0 run.
The second set was all Lutheran as the Warriors built an 11-1 lead and never let Chadron get any closer than 6 the rest of the way.
Chadron stayed close through much of set 3, but couldn't get over the hump as the Warriors closed out the sweep.
Lincoln Lutheran advances to play Wahoo in Friday's semifinals. Wahoo swept Norfolk Catholic in its opening round match. The other semifinal has top-seeded St Paul, another winner in a sweep, against Broken Bow, who dropped its opening set to Wayne before winning the next 3.
Two other Panhandle schools made it to state and both were also first-day casualties. Sidney was seeded 3rd in Class B but was swept by Omaha Duchesne while Garden County, the 4th seed in D-2, was swept by St Francis
