(Neb)-Sioux County, Crawford To Open 6-Man Football Playoffs Friday
(Chadrad Sports) - Sioux County and Crawford both made the 16-team, 6-man football state playoffs and have opening round games this Friday.
7-1 Sioux County is the 7th seed and opens at home against 5-3 Sterling at 2:00 pm while Crawford, also 5-3, is seeded 13th and starts on the road at 8-0 McCool Junction at Noon.
Cody-Kilgore, who handed Sioux County its only loss, is the #1 seed and hosts 3-5 Sumner-Eddyville-Miller. Also making the 6-man playoffs from the Panhandle was Chappell Creek Valley, the 3rd seed at 8-0. The Storm hosts Wilcox Hildreth.
Unbeaten Garden County is the D2 west top seed and plays at home Thurs against Blue Hill, while Hemingford and Morrill both made the D1 field, which starts Fri. The Bobcats are seeded 10th in the West and play at Dundy County-Stratton while Morrill is the 15th seed and will be at Fullerton.
No Panhandle schools made the C1 playoffs, but Ogallala is the 8th seed and hosts Fullerton while Valentine squeaked in as the last seed and will go to #1 Adams Central - both on Friday.
Scottsbluff and Alliance made the Class B playoffs as the 1st and last seeds and will play each other in Scottsbluff on Friday.
