(Neb)-Chadron High Finishes Second At Pilfold Invitational In Alliance

 (Chadrad Sports) - Chadron finished 2nd yesterday at the Pilfold Invitational volleyball tournament in Alliance, losing in the championship match to Colorado Lutheran in 3 sets. The Lady Cards won the first 25-22, but lost the next two 25-20, 25-18.

       Chadron had gone 2-1 in pool play, beating Little Wound, SD, and Yuma, Colo, but losing to Grand Island Central Catholic 23-25, 25-22, 25-18. The Cards avenged the loss in the semifinal with straight sets 25-21 and 25-18.

       Sioux County jumped 2 classes to take part and lost to Alliance 25-8, 25-9 and to Colorado Lutheran 25-9, 25-13. Lutheran beat Alliance in pool 25-21, 25-22 and again in the semifinals 25-21, 25-17.

       Yuma beat Sioux County 25-16, 25-22 for 5th and Grand Island Central Catholic topped Alliance 25-11, 25-19 for 3rd.

        The tournament was the last action before the playoffs, with subdistricts beginning tomorrow for C and D teams and Tuesday for Class B schools.

       Chadron is the top seed in the C1-12 subdistrict in Bridgeport and will taken on Gordon-Rushville tomorrow at 5:00, followed by Ogallala and Mitchell at 6:15. The championship game is Tue at 6:30

      D2-11 is at the Lister-Sage Center in Hay Springs. It begins with Cody-Kilgore versus Hay Springs at 5:30, then Crawford and Sioux County at 7:00 with the finals on Tuesday.
