(Neb.)- Texas Golf Tourney Cancels Day Two Amid Rain & Flooding
AMARILLO, Texas -- After the Chadron State College golf team fired 343 in Monday's round one, at the West Texas A&M Fall Intercollegiate, the tournament was called due to weather and a flooded course, following a wait of more than an hour for conditions to improve.
The Eagles tied for 11th place in the team standings, along with Texas-Permian Basin. Alpine Hickstein led CSC with a first-round score of 80.
Host WTAMU won the championship with a score of 299, with the Lady Buffs' Holly Winter taking the individual title at 71 strokes.
The Eagles will have three weeks to prepare for their next competition, a tournament hosted by Fort Lewis College at the University of New Mexico Championship Course in Albuquerque. That event takes place October 21.
