(Neb)-West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball And Football Games Today

SCOTTSBLUFF - The 41st annual West Nebraska All-Star Football Game and the 35th annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game are today in Scottsbluff.

     The volleyball game begins at 2:00 at WNCC and the football game at 7:00 at Scottsbluff High School's Bearcat Stadium.

     The 13 members of the East volleyball team represent 11 different high schools with Mullen accounting for 3 players, including Chadron State signee Haley Jones.

     The West squad has 2 players each from Sidney, Mitchell, Hershey, and Ogallala along with single representatives of 4 Panhandle schools.

   Those are Carstyn Hageman of Chadron - who is headed to Chadron State - Lauren Gasseling of Hemingford, Scottsbluff's MaKenzie Dunkel - who will play basketball for CSC - and Emersen Cyza of Alliance. Chadron High coach Blakelee Hoffman is assisting head coach Jodi Craig of Dalton.

       The football West roster includes 3 former Chadron High Cardinals - Dan Dunbar, Jake Lemmon, and Clark Reisen - a pair of ex-Hemingford Bobcats - Justin Davis and Cade Payne - and now-former Alliance Bulldogs Baily Hood and Chandler Stinson

    Also on the West squad from the Northern Panhandle are Gordon-Rushville's Tommy Bragg and Trent Reed of Hay Springs, who will also play in next Sat's Nebraska-Wyoming 6-Man Shootout at Chadron State College.

     8 players in tonight's game have signed letters-of-intent to play at Chadron State this fall including 7 from the West team - Chadron's Dunbar, Lemmon, and Reisen - Baily Hood of Alliance, Hemingford's Cade Payne, Ephroen Lovato from Minatare, and Keegan Reifschneider of Scottsbluff along with McCook's Morgan Fawver from the East squad.

     Head coach for the West is Jimmie Rhodes of Mitchelll, a one-time Chadron State graduate assistant coach. Cozad's Brian Cargill is the East coach and has 3 of his Cozad assistants on his all-star game staff.
