(Neb.)- Chadron, Gordon-Rushville Girls Send Track Athletes To State
(Chadrad Sports)- The Chadron girls track team had a solid day at the B-6 district track meet in Ogallala on Thursday, qualifying for state in six events.
Olivia Reed and Tatum Bailey grabbed the only individual titles with wins in the 200m and high jump repectively.
Reed was also a member of the winning 4x400m relay team along with Jacey Garrett, Dawn Dunbar, and Allie Ferguson. Ferguson and Reed punched their tickets in the 400m by finishing 2nd and 3rd.
True Thorne was the only Lady Card to qualify in two individual events, earning a repeat trip to state with a 2nd place finish in the shot put with a school record effort of 39' 3.5" and placing 3rd in the discus.
The Chadron boys came up empty on automatic qualifiers, but Dom Nobiling finished 4th in the 110m hurdles and may be in line for a state berth as one of the six fastest non-auto qualifiers which will be released Friday afternoon.
Gordon-Rushville sent two girls relays to state at the C-9 district meet in Bayard. Both the 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams took silver and will compete at next weeks state meet in Omaha.
