(Neb.)- Chadron, Crawford, Sioux County Girls Give Strong Showing In Bayard

(Chadrad Sports)- The Chadron, Crawford, and Sioux County girls all turned in strong performances at Friday's Bayard B-C-D Invite.

The Lady Cardinals took first in seven events, led by Olivia Reed who won the 200m and 400m dashes.  Fellow Freshman Leila Tewahade captured gold in the 800m run and Allie Ferguson was tops in the 300m hurdles.

In the field events, True Thorne continued her season dominance in the discus with another 1st place finish.  Tatum Bailey won the high jump and was followed by Reed in 2nd place.  Dawn Dunbar took 2nd in the 100m hurdles.

The Chadron girls 4x400m relay earned top honors as did the Sioux County girls 4x800m relay.

Crawford's Dalli Anders captured runner-up in the 200m while teammate Jillian Brennan was 2nd in the 3200m and 3rd in the 1600m.  Chadron's Mackenzie Butts was 3rd in the 3200m.

Chadron had three boys finish in the top 3 of their events. Clark Riesen was 2nd in the triple jump, Jake Lemmon was 3rd in the 100m dash, and Dom Nobiling was 3rd in the 110m hurdles.

Teams will now focus on districts this next week with Classes A and D on Wednesday, and Classes B and C on Thursday.
