OMAHA - The Creighton women defeated Nebraska for the third straight season Sunday in Omaha, beating their in-state rivals 74-65.
The Huskers led 28-27 at the half, but trailed by 13 at 60-47 with just under 6-minutes left in the game and never got closer than 5 the rest of the way.
It was a poor shooting day, at least from the field, for Nebraska as they shot under 36%, including a season-worst 2-22 from 3-point range. Creighton hit 44% overall, but also struggled from long-range at 5-21.
Both teams were good and busy from the foul line as the Huskers were 19-27 from the charity strip while Creighton was 21-24.
Freshman Sam Haiby scored 15 of her team-high 17 points in the 2nd half for Nebraska, but couldn't keep her club from fall to 2-5 on the season.
Creighton senior Audrey Faber led the Bluejays with a double-double that included game highs of 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Lady Jays are now 2-4 on the year.
Nebraska returns home to Pinnacle Bank Arena for the first time in nearly a month on Wednesday when the Huskers take on Kansas.
