(Neb.)- Chadron's Pelton Finishes 28th At Rain Shortened State Golf
(Chadrad Sports)- Mother Nature had apparently had enough golf by Tuesday morning as weather cancelled the second rounds of the Class A (Norfolk) and B (Columbus) girls state golf championships.
Class A never got the chance to start their day due to rains and the NSAA immediately announced that Monday's round would be considered the final results.
Chadron's Maddie Pelton along with most of the rest of the Class B field had already gotten underway and were through their front nine when the decision was made to cancel the conclusion of the round and consider Monday's results as final.
Pelton will finish her Sophomore year in a tie for 28th place after shooting a 101 on Monday. She struggled on holes 5 and 6 with a four and three over par. Pelton was able to bounce back and parred the 4th and 13th.
Omaha Duchene's Anna Boor took the individual title with a 74 while Duchene also captured the team championship with a 330, 30 strokes ahead of runner-up Gering. Scottsbluff ended 3rd with a 377.
