(Neb.)- Rahmig Leads Eagles At Hardscrabble Invite
FORT SMITH, Ark. -- April 10, 2018 -- Chadron State College junior Sam Rahmig led the Eagle golfers at the Hardscrabble Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith at Hardscrabble Golf Club, firing consistently in the mid-80s as the team carded 395-386-381-1162 to finish eighth as a team in 54 holes. The initial 36 holes were all played on Monday, while the tournament finished up with 18 more on Tuesday.
"Sam provided us the consistent play we needed on a very difficult course," said Head Golf Coach John Ritzen. "This was our first time playing 36 holes in one day, and I think we got tired and lost some focus by the end of the day. I'm proud of how the ladies kept fighting and bounced back the second day."
Rahmig, a Gering native, lowered her stroke average by one-tenth of a stroke to 85.8 for the season. She fired 86-83-87 to finish at 256 and tied for 29th.
Adrianna Weeldreyer of Newell, South Dakota, scored 282; Logan Kasten of Cheyenne, Wyoming, recorded a 305; and Tori Meschke of Broken Bow finished at 319.
Midwestern State University, who conquered the field at the Pack Invite in Pueblo, Colorado, two weeks ago, was the tournament winner scoring 304-295-297-896
Imkeleen Meyer of Newman University won the individual honors with a scorecard showing a five-over-par 74-71-70-215
