(Neb.)- NSAA Assembly To Vote On Classification & Bowling On Friday
(Chadrad Sports)- The NSAA Representatives Assembly will meet in Lincoln on Friday to discuss two separate issues that could affect the sports landscape.
The first topic of discussion will be the possibility of determining classification for each sport, excluding track and cross country, by a schools boy or girl enrollment, not the two combined.
The model proposed, was used this past year to classify football teams for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. With the new model, Gordon-Rushville dropped to class C2 and Sidney dropped to C1 for the next two years.
The other proposal is to add bowling as a fully sanctioned NSAA sport. The idea was discussed among the six regions in the state this past fall and was voted down by the states two largest regions in Lincoln and Omaha, but gained enough support to go before the assembly for a final vote.
The NSAA hasn't added a new sport since incorporating softball in the mid-90's.
