(Neb)-CSC Basketball Vs CCU Moved From Sat To Mon Dec 4
CHADRON - The Chadron State men's and women's basketball teams will not be opening Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference at this Friday and Saturday at home as scheduled, but will instead play Friday and next Monday, Dec 4th.
The late schedule change was needed because Regis University, Chadron State's travel partner, is hosting the NCAA Division II volleyball South Central Regional this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, leaving its gym unavailable for basketball Friday and Saturday nights.
The original schedule called for Colorado Mines to be in Chadron and Colorado Christian University at Regis on Friday, with the opponents to flip on Saturday. Now, Regis will play Saturday and Sunday afternoons while the Eagles will still host Mines on Friday but will meet CCU on Monday. The CSC game times are unchanged - 5:30 for the women and 7:30 for the men both nights.
The scheduling conflict arose last Monday night when Regis, the RMAC regular season and tournament champion, was named the top seed and regional host, but the disruption of Thanksgiving helped keep the 4 schools from reaching an agreement on basketball until the weekend, with the coaches notified yesterday.
As for the South Central Volleyball Regional, there are 3 RMAC teams involved: Regis, 3rd-seeded Metro State, and #4 Colorado Mines.
