Nebraska is the 5th overall seed for the NCAA volleyball tournament and will host the opening weekend this Friday and Saturday.
The Big Ten champion Huskers, making their 36th straight NCAA Tournament appearance, will open with Friday's 2nd game at 6:00 MT against the Stony Brook New York Seawolves, champions of the America East.
The 3:30 p.m. match features the Florida State Seminoles of the ACC and the Washington State Cougars of the Pac-12. Friday's winners will meet on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
Penn State, Florida, Stanford and Kentucky received the top 4 seeds, meaning they will host the regionals if they win this weekend. If the Wildcats stumble, Nebraska would be the regional host.
The Huskers finished the regular season 26-4 overall and 19-1 in the Big Ten Conference to earn their second straight Big Ten Championship, which they shared with Penn State, while Stony Brook is making its first NCAA Tournament appearance.
This is 33rd time that Lincoln has hosted the opening weekend of the tournament. Nebraska is 102-31 in the NCAA Tournament and is looking to become the first Husker team to reach 3 straight Final Fours. This year's Final Four is Dec 14-16 in Kansas City, Missouri.
