(Neb)-Sidney Names Permanent City Manager

By: John Axtell Posted at: 06/26/2020 11:10 AM
SIDNEY - The Sidney City Council has unanimously removed the 'interim' tag from City Manager David Scott, making him the permanent successor to Ed Sadler, who retired in February after 4 years.

Scott has been the Sidney Finance Director since 2016 and helped guide the town into the post-Cabela's era in that post before doing the same during the COVID-19 crisis as interim city manager.

Mayor Roger Gallaway told KNEB News the council felt that Scott's intimate knowledge of the city and his experience in working through finances and budget during a tough local economy are an important part of what the city still needs to do in moving forward.

.    Gallaway also said the council was very comfortable with Scott's management style in dealing with both city staff and the public, an opinion seconded by long-time City Clerk Cynthia Heilbrun who says Scott has always been conscientious of his job and very fair to employees,

There are still 3 Panhandle towns looking for a city manager or city administrator - Scottsbluff, Gering, and Kimball.
