(SD)-Four Days Of Searches Planned In 2019 Black Hills Missing Person Cases

By: John Axtell Posted at: 05/16/2020 11:40 PM
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - Search dog teams from 2 groups with members in Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming are conducting a 4-day search for 2 long missing persons in the Black Hills.

The Pennington County Sheriff's Offices says 7 teams from Colorado Forensic Canines and Tri-State Canines will search today through Tuesday for Serenity Dennard and Larry Genzlinger.

Dennard has been the object of repeated searches for more than a year since running away from the Black Hills Children's Home in Rockerville in Feb of last year when she was 9. The case has drawn national coverage.

The 66-year old Genzlinger  was last seen last Oct. 1st while elk hunting with his nephew

Because of continued snow cover in the higher elevations of the Black Hills, both searches stopped in October. Searchers resumed looking for Genzlinger earlier this month when the snow melted.
