(SD)-Noem Frustrated COVID-19 Test Supplies Didn't Come To State Lab First
PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem publicly praised the White House last week for its help in finding supplies needed to run COVID-19 tests, but a video posted online by NBC News suggests it wasn't all hugs and kisses.
The video taken from a call with with President Donald Trump reveals Nome's frustration when she found out a local hospital system had received supplies before the state lab, which had to halt testing on Monday after running out of reagent, the compounded needed for the chemical analysis in the tests.
The state lab finally received a shipment on Thursday morning, but still received only enough supplies to run high-priority tests. South Dakota has 14 cases of COVID-19, including one person who died.
