(Neb)-Dawes County Extends Courthouse Lunch Hour To Fight Coronavirus Listen
CHADRON - Dawes County is keeping things pretty much the same at the courthouse in Chadron despite the coronavirus with one exception: a 90-minute lunch hour closure from 1:00-2:30 starting Monday.
Commissioner Jake Stewart says closing the courthouse during that time allows for twice-a-day disinfecting of the surfaces most commonly used by the public and employees.
Stewart says residents can rest assured all levels of government are doing their best to deal with the coronavirus pandemic, adding that there's no need to panic.
NEWS RELEASE FROM DAWES COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Please be advised that the Dawes County Board of Commissioners would like to inform the public on changes to normal operating procedures.
Starting on Monday the 23rd of March 2020, the Dawes County Courthouse will be closing most offices for a lunch period of 1:00-2:30 PM so that offices can be disinfected and cleaned for afternoon operations.
The State of Nebraska's recommendation of no more than 10 people gathering together will also go into effect and signs will be posted.
Remember your local government needs to be operation during all times of disaster if possible and we need the pubblic's assistance in making sure this happens.
Please start by putting a limit on visits to the courthouse and making sure they are needed, along with trying to stay away if you are showing any of the medical signs that have been posted.
Dawes County will continue to work closely with Panhandle Public Health District and Region 23 Emergency Management for any procedures we may need to adjust.
The Staff and Officials of Dawes County will continue function as normal as possible with any changes to be announced by news release.
If you have any questions regarding a specific office, please contact that office directly for policies that may be different due to this event.
Thank you for your help, patience, and understanding during this time of concern.
Dawes County Board of Commissioners.
