(Neb)-NPPD Closing All Service Centers To
COLUMBUS, Neb. - A day after announcing that it's Chadron service center was closing to "walk-up customers" for 2 weeks because on of its employees had begun a COVID-19 self-quarantine, Nebraska Public Power District said it's closing all 10 of its service centers around the state.
The closure, which includes the center in Scottsbluff, begins today and will last until further notice. NPPD spokesman Mark Becker says the decision follows recommendations by state and federal agencies and is in the best interest of the safety and health of NPPD customers and employees.
Becker says the transmission and distribution operations at each of the service centers will remain in operation to ensure reliable electric service throughout the state, and bills can still be paid using the drop-boxes at each location .
The utility offers several other convenient ways to pay a bill and manage an account without going into an office, and its website, nppd.com, describes those options in greater detail. Other information related to NPPD can be found on its Facebook page and Twitter account (@NPPDNews).
