(Neb)-CSC Drops Face-To-Face Classes,
CHADRON - When the extended Mid-Semester Break at Chadron State College ends next Monday, the school is dropping traditional face-to-face classes for the rest of the semester and switching to "remote delivery."
CSC President Randy Rhine told students in an email Tuesday morning that remote delivery isn't limited to the now familiar online style but also includes email, CSC Online, and the Zoom video conferencing app.
Rhine said faculty members are working to tailor the various methods to their classes and will contact students by Friday on how remote delivery will work for specific courses.
Rhine acknowledged that some students may not have the resources to effectively access classwork and recommended those students talk with their professors "to find a workable solution."
The college created a special webpage on its website to help students understand and use remote learning - www.csc.edu/covid19/student/index.
Chadron State has canceled all oncampus events until Tuesday, April 14. Director of College Relations Alex Helmbrecht says that includes public demonstrations, campus showcases, speaking engagements or public lectures, campus visits, and intramural or group fit activities
The campus will remain open including residence halls, cafeteria, library, computer labs, and the complete range of student and academic support services.
Rhine is asking students remaining on campus to practice social distancing by keeping at least six feet away from others and not gathering in groups of more than 10 people.
