(Neb)-Nebraska COVID-19 Count Now At 10

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska Dept of Health and Human Services says 5 more Nebraska residents have tested positive for COVID-19, the new coronavirus disease, bringing the state total to 10.

All 5 are in the Omaha area and are close family members of the state's 4th victim, an Omaha-area woman who recently traveled to California and Nevada. She continues in self-quarantine at home as do all 5 of her family members.

The state's 5th case is a student at Crofton High School in the northeast part of the state is in the Biocontainment Unit of the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

It's unclear whether the student's case is travel related or related to any of the others, but the student did attend two games at the girls state basketball tournament last Thursday in Lincoln, leading Crofton schools to close at least through Friday, when officials will re-assess the situation.

Because of the Crofton case, the Nebraska School Activities Association decided yesterday that the boys state tournament, which starts today in Lincoln, will go ahead but without fans except for immediate family.

The NSAA is defining immediate family as parents, stepparents, guardians, siblings, other members living in the athlete's household, and grandparents. Live video from all games will be available online from the National High School Sports Federation at its website nhfsnetwork.com.
