(Wyo)-Laramie County Commissioners Delay Rules Change Needed For Planned Wild Horse Facility
CHEYENNE, S.D. (AP) - The Laramie County Commissioner in Cheyenne have postponed a final decision on a change to land use regulations that would allow a South Dakota company to build a wild horse facility in southeast Wyoming about 25 miles east of Cheyenne.
Currently, any project deemed a CAFO - concentrated animal feed operation, including Equine Elite's planned facility in Burns, must have the approval of neighbors within a 3-mile radius. The change would shrink the approval radius to just 1 mile.
The commissioners said they want to study the issue more because it would affect all future projects deemed CAFOs.
