(Neb)-Scratch Ticket Pays Off Big For Scottsbluff Man
SCOTTSBLUFF - A Scottsbluff man got a head start on celebrating the New Year on Monday when he collected the $20,000 top prize in the Nebraska Lottery's Golden Cherry Multiplier scratch ticket game.
Jonathan Carlson says he's been playing Scratch tickets since the lottery began in 1993 and while he's won a few big prizes before, this is the first top prize he's claimed. He says he was pleased but "not overly excited" because he knew if he kept playing he'd "win a decent prize."
Carlson says he plays Scratch tickets quite often because it relaxes him after work. He's planning to use his winnings to repair and remodel his house.
Tickets for the Golden Cherry Multiplier cost $20 with prizes ranging from $30 to $20,000. The odds of winning any prize are 1-in-3, but the odds for one of the 6 top prizes is 1 in 52,500.
