(Neb)-Bayard Schools Working With Police On Possible High School Threat
BAYARD - Bayard school officials say in a post on the school district's Facebook page that they are working with law enforcement on allegations that a high school student threatened his classmates last week.
KNEB news says it has been contacted by parents and others about the situation, and was told by multiple sources that a student made a threatening statement against his classmates in one specific class.
The school district says on Facebook that it has received a number of inquiries about student safety since the alleged incident and that officials remain committed to student safety.
It says the incident was reported immediately to both city and county law enforcement, with the school in ongoing contact to determine if any laws or school rules were violated.
The student has not been in school since the incident was reported and won't be until law enforcement has completed its investigation into the allegation.
The Facebook post thanks patrons and residents for their ongoing vigilance as a community dedicated to students and their safety, and reminds them that non-emergency concerns about student safety can be reported using the Bayard school district's SafeSchools Tip Reporting service.
