(SD)-Second Democrat Enters SD U-S House Race
CUSTER, S.D. (AP) - A Custer woman has become the second Democrat to enter the race for South Dakota's lone U-S House seat, currently held by first-term Republican Dusty Johnson.
32-year old Whitney Raver made her formal announcement last night in Rapid City, but had hinted in August that she wanted to challenge Johnson, who has not said if he will run for reelection. Brian Wirth of Dell Rapids is the other announced Democratic candidate.
Raver, who describes herself as an entrepreneur and small business advocate, unsuccessfully run for the South Dakota House of Representatives in District 30 last year.
