(Wyo)-No Tuition Increase Next Year For Wyo Community Colleges
GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Community College Commission has decided against raising tuition for the 7 college districts during the current school year.
The panel last year approved a $1 increase to $95 per credit hour for this year and decided decided Thursday in Gillette to see the impact of that increase before considering another.
Commission staff had recommended waiting on any new increase for the 2-year schools to see what tuition might be charged for new four-year degrees authorized by the Legislature.
The commission also set a goal last year for tuition to bring in between 23% to 28% of the community college system's revenue each year, with this year's hike projected to put tuition at about 21% of revenue.
