(SD)-Free Showing In Hot Springs of "Almost Sunrise" For Suicide Prevention Day
HOT SPRINGS, S.D. - Today is World Suicide Prevention Day and the Hot Springs Theater in Hot Springs is marking the occasion with a free-will donation screening tonight at 7:00 of the Emmy-nominated film "Almost Sunrise."
The film follows two Iraq veterans who struggle with depression after returning home, then take a 2,700-mile walk across America to confront their inner pain.
Statistics show 22 U-S veterans commit suicide every day with Almost Sunrise described as a "groundbreaking look at what could be a missing piece of the puzzle - the true nature of the psychological wounds of returning soldiers and the potential power of meditation and nature therapy.
The Hot Springs screening is sponsored by Gaia Services, Black Hills Center for Healing, and the Advancement of Psychotherapy.
