(Neb)-Chadron PD Seeking Couple Who Passed Phony $10

By: John Axtell Posted at: 09/09/2019 03:53 PM
CHADRON - The Chadron Police Department confiscated a counterfeit $10 bill over the weekend and is looking for the Native American couple who used it along with other bills to pay for purchases at the local Bomgaars store.

The phony bill was discovered when the cashier tested it with a special anti-counterfeit marker and the yellow streak turned black.

The female half of the couple is described as 5'1", heavy set with long black hair, wearing a black tank top with the male 5'3" to 5'5" with scruffy facial hair and wearing a black flat bill hat with a red "76" on it. There is no information about their vehicle.

The Chadron Police Department is encouraging small business owners to be vigilant in protecting themselves against fake money by using an anti-counterfeit marker on suspicious bills.

The police department also asks that anyone with information on the counterfeit $10 bill call 308-432-0510 or go online at Crimestoppers.
