(Neb)-NRD Dips Into Reserves To Balance Budget
CHADRON - The Upper Niobrara White Natural Resources District Board has approved a $1.5-million dollar budget that's $38-hundred dollars less than this year and has the same property tax request as the last 5 years with a tax rate that's one-tenth of a penny - one ten-thousandths of a dollar - lower than this year.
The $633,573 dollar in property taxes raised by the 1.6-cent per hundred tax rate and the NRD's other expected revenue comes up short of meeting the planned spending. The board chose to make up the difference by using $172,000 from reserves to balance the budget.
