(Neb)-New Charge Added In Murder/Dismemberment Thrill Killing
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Prosecutors have filed a new criminal charge against 25-year-old Bailey Boswell, already awaiting trial for 1st-degree murder in the slaying and dismemberment of a Lincoln woman that she and her boyfriend allegedly picked as their victim through social media.
The new charged facing Boswell is conspiracy to commit murder. It will be included in the Oct 15th trial already scheduled on the murder and improper disposal of remains charges for the November 2017 death of 24-year-old Sydney Loofe.
The additional charge mirrors one filed against Boswell's co-defendant, 52-year-old Aubrey Trail, shortly before his trial began in June. After 4-weeks, a jury deliberated only a few hours before finding Trail guilty on all counts.
Trail is waiting for a 3-judge panel to decide if he will get the death penalty or life in prison. Prosecutors are also seeking the death penalty for Boswell.
Loofe's body was found in 14 pieces in ditches along a state highway weeks after her disappearance. She was reported missing two days after she had gone on a date with Boswell and one day after they arranged to meet for a second date.
