(Neb)-Still No Results In Search For Wyo Man Missing In Gering
GERING - The official search for a former Edgemont area man last seen in Gering nearly a month ago resumed this week, but with no results.
Investigator Shawn West told the Scottsbluff Star-Herald that searches Tuesday and Wednesday by Gering firefighters and a Goshen County, Wyo, Search and Rescue team found no sign of 25-year old Chance Englebert of Moorcroft, Wyo.
West said some of the search retraced areas covered initially, including sections of the Stable Club Canal that the owner of a cadaver dog who took part in the initial search wanted to come back to because it can take several days or more for a body underway to surface.
West told the newspaper that in the new search, his dog did make some indications but that those did not lead to any discoveries. He also said that appeals to the public for information led to a lot of calls, some with rumors and speculation, but none that made any headway.
The Gering Fire Dept searchers pressed through into last evening because of the threat of flash flooding today.
Englebert, his wife, and young child were staying at a relative's home in Gering, when he left for a walk about 7:30 pm on July 6th after becoming upset during a disagreement with his wife. He was last spotted later that evening on security video still walking.
Englebert's family, friends, and others have conducted multiple private searches around Scotts Bluff County, and social media indicates other private searches have been held throughout the county on a regular basis.
Anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of Chance Englebert are still being asked to contact the Scotts Bluff County Communications Center.
