By: John Axtell Posted at: 07/31/2019 11:22 AM
CHADRON - The Dawes, Sioux, and Fall River County Fairs are all in action now, although the Sioux County Fair in Harrison has a quiet day today with only open class entries this afternoon from 5:00-6:00.

The Fall River County Fair in Edgemont has entries for open class quilt entries from 9-till-noon and early open class entries in other specialties from 5:00-7:30, but the big event is the Junior Jackpot Playday in the arena for kids 5-18 in 3 divisions: Junior Junion, Junior, and Senior.

The Dawes County Fair has another full schedule today with 4-H swine, goat, sheep, and beef weigh-in and check-in this morning, Fun With 4-H from 12:30-2:30 in Earl's Park, and the 4-H Swin Show at 3:00.

Tonight's entertainment is the Tough Truck Competition starting at 5:30 with Security First Bank also offering free root beer floats at that time.

KCSR will be broadcasting live from the fair again today starting at 10:00, but with something of a split shift because there's Colorado Rockies baseball starting at 12:30.
