(Neb.)- Western Wildlife Art Show/OWT & 4th Of July Celebration Begin Today In Crawford
(Chadrad News)- The Western Wildlife Art Show opens it's 3-day run in the historic Veterinary Hospital at Fort Robinson State Park tonight with a Meet and Greet Artist's Reception from 5:00-7:00 pm and the Grand Opening from 7:00-9:00 pm. The show opens fully to the public tomorrow with hours of 9 am-7pm and will also have the same hours on Wednesday before running 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Thursday, July 4th.
This is the 47th year for the show, which has seen several name changes over the year and is now officially recognized by the IRS as a non-profit 501 c-3 organization with donations tax deductible.
Today is also the first day of Crawford's Old West Trail Rodeo and 4th of July Celebration, which opens with the Junior King/Princess contest at 9:00 am, followed by the Junior Fun Day Rodeo at 10:00 am, both at the Old West Trail Arena in the Crawford City Park. There are 3 divisions for the rodeo: junior-junior, junior, and senior.
The main rodeo, sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association, is Wednesday and Thursday nights with competition in bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, and cowgirl's barrel racing. Ending the rodeo with a bang as usual will be the 4th of July fireworks following the Thursday night session.
