By: Dennis Brown Posted at: 06/30/2019 07:41 AM
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A Wyoming businessman with national Republican ties says he's considering running for federal office.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports Bob Grady announced Friday that he decided to explore after U.S. Sen. Mike Enzi said he wouldn't run for re-election next year.

Grady says he is considering both Enzi's seat and U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney's House seat, if she decides to run for Senate.

Grady was a policy adviser and speechwriter for George H.W. Bush's 1988 presidential campaign and later worked at the federal Office of Management and Budget.

He has worked in private equity, was an economic adviser to former Gov. Matt Mead and the former finance chairman of the Wyoming Republican Party.

Former U.S. Rep. Cynthia Lummis and Republican donor Foster Friess also are considering runs for the Senate seat.
