(Wyo)-Cheyenne Mayor: Gov Curse, Slammed Fists On Table
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr says she regrets endorsing Governor Mark Gordon in last year's Republican primary after an incident last week in which she says Gordon "got in her face" and "used his physical presence in an aggressive and threatening manner."
Orr told The Associated Press that Gordon slammed his fists on a table and shouted "F--- you, mayor" last Friday during a meeting about a Taiwanese government delegation possibly visiting Cheyenne during Frontier Days next month, adding that the governor was upset about the city's involvement.
Gordon, who was state treasurer when he won the primary, issued a statement apologizing for his language but denying he used intimidating body language - a position supported by 3 staffers. Orr says the staffers say a different meeting that ended on a less confrontational note.
