(SD)-Rapid City Man Dies Of Injuries In MVA 3 Weeks Earlier
RAPID CITY, S.D. - The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a second Rapid City resident has died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 79 near Rapid City earlier this month.
71-year-old James Broderick had been in Rapid City Regional Hospital since the May 7th accident that also claimed the life of 26-year old Hannah Drake. Drake died at the scene while Broderick died Tuesday. The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
The Patrol says Broderick was in a minivan about 5 miles south of Rapid City when Drake turned onto the highway from a county road just in front of him. The two vehicles collided, and Drake's SUV caught on fire. She was unable to get out of the burning vehicle.
