(Wyo)-Wyoming Teacher Salaries 16th In The Nation
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A report by the National Education Association says Wyoming has the 16th-highest average teach salary in the nation at $58,351 - higher that all its neighbors, but not by as much as it has been in recent years because of the impact of the downturn in the energy sector on state revenue.
Salaries for Wyoming teachers rose just $165 for the 2017-18 academic year, well below the national average of more than $900, and last year's state spending of $16,529 per student, the 10th highest in the nation. actually fell from the previous year.
