(Neb)-25th Annual Chadron Festival Of Quilts Is Underway Listen
CHADRON - The 25th annual Chadron Festival of Quilts begins its 3-day run today at the Assumption Arena with hours of 9-5 today and tomorrow and noon-till-4:00 on Sunday. Admission is $5 for the entire weekend and a scheduled is available online at Chadronfestivalofquilts.com.
Rita Meyerhoff of Arvada, Colo, is the featured quilter and the theme is "Still Crazy After 25 Years," and celebrates both traditional and modern approaches to crazy quilts.
Janice McCallum, one of the organizers again this year, says one of the most popular things about the Chadron festival is that all quilts, quilt makers, and quilt owners are welcome.
Charlotte Kriz, another veteran festival organizer, the only judging of quilts will be done by the members of the public who come to view the quilts - and their judging will be based on what they like, not technical issues.
There are 4 vendors with booths at this year's Chadron Quilt Festival with trunk shows and demonstrations all 3 days, dozens of door prizes, and scavenger hunt based on some of the roughly 200 quilts on display.
