CHAPPELL, Neb. (AP) - A Chappell woman charged with 1st-degree murder in the January stabbing death of Chappell man has made her first appearance in Deuel County District Court.

49-year-old Susan Glenn pleaded Not Guilty after waiving a preliminary hearing in county court. No trial date has been set, but District Judge Derek Weimer scheduled a June 3rd status hearing.

Glenn was originally charged with 1st-degree assault after allegedly stabbing Robert Mick Jan 13, but the charge was upgraded to murder when Mick died 4 days later.

Court records show Mick was outside a Chappell mobile home with a woman who was on the phone with police dispatchers when Glenn came out and stabbed him.

Glenn fled in her car, but was located by Deuel County Sheriff's deputies about a hour later and voluntarily went with them to the Sheriff's office, where she admitted stabbing Mick
