(Neb)-Trustees Approve 2.5% Raise For Professional And Support Staff
CHADRON - The Nebraska State College System last month approved pay raises to non-union, non-teaching staffers at the 3 state colleges and the system central office. Both professional staff and support staff will receive 2.5% increases.
The Board approved 3 Chadron State College academic programs that had met threshold standards set by the state Coordinating Commission for Public Education - Psychological Sciences, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Family and Consumer Sciences - but the CSC Theatre and Peru State Music programs failed to meet the thresholds.
Those 2 programs were both then scheduled for in-depth review by the Coordinating Commission. The in-depth CSC Theatre review is scheduled for May 30 with Dean of Liberal Arts Jim Margetts and Vice President for Academic Affairs Charles Snare to attend and respond to questions.
The trustees gave approval to naming the former concession stand in the lobby of the Armstrong Gymnasium in recognition of the Brent and Shelly Thurness family. It will now be known as the Thurness Family Sports Nutrition Center.
The board also amended its by-laws to create a new panel to develop, review, and assess performance goals and objectives. The Executive Committee will consist of the Board Chair and Vice-Chair, a third trustee, and the state college system Chancellor.
