(SD)-10 Years In Reservation Case Of Shooting At Occupied Vehicle
PINE RIDGE, S.D. (AP) - A Pine Ridge Reservation man convicted of shooting at people in a vehicle there last year has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
34-year-old Charles Kieffe of Kyle was convicted in federal court of discharging a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence in the March 2018 incident near Kyle. He was also ordered to pay more than $3,800 in restitution.
Authorities say Kieffe used his vehicle to block another vehicle containing people he believed sold him $1,500 worth of bad drugs.
He then got out and fired several shots from a rifle into the other vehcle's windshield and passenger side window. One woman in the car sustained a shrapnel injury to her leg.
