(Neb)-Star-Herald Publisher Roger Tollefson Dead
SCOTTSBLUFF - Roger Tollefson, publisher or the Scottsbluff Star-Herald, Gering Courier, and Hemingford Ledger, died unexpectedly Wednesday at his home in Gering. No cause of death has been given and funeral arrangements are pending.
Tollefson had spent 37 years in the newspaper business. He joined the Star-Herald in 1991 and had worked his way up from circulation manager to general manager before being named publisher of the 3 papers in mid-December.
All 3 are owned by BH Media, an arm of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate, which issued a statement praising Tollefson and saying he will be missed.
