(Neb)-Alliance Microbrewery Open For Business
ALLIANCE - Brewery 719, the first micro-brewery in Alliance, held its grand opening yesterday.
Head Brewer Nick McCoy says he started thinking about it when he began brewing his own beer at home more than a decade ago, then got serious when he saw the success of so many micro-breweries along Colorado's Front Range.
McCoy has spent the past couple years working with Alliance officials to change city ordinances to allow micro-breweries, acquiring and renovating a building, and getting a liquor license for Brewery 719.
The brewery's name comes from a steam locomotive on display in Alliance and reflects both the long history and current importance of the railroad in the community.
While McCoy is the head brewer, his wife Toni is the tap room manager with D-J Sulzbach the cellarman and vice president. More about Brewery 719 is available on its Facebook page.
